This week we're launching our brand new events guide for the spring months. Covering April to June 2025, this guide will help you find great events to enjoy across the county.  

Looking for something fun to do without breaking the bank? Look no further than our handy list below for some of the free and value for money events you can enjoy over the next few months.  

April  


Prom Fest, Morecambe  
4th – 6th April  

A brand-new music festival is coming to Morecambe this April! Enjoy live music in multiple venues across the town, including The Bath Tap and The Kings Arms. These free live shows will be a great way to spend the weekend.

Twilight Thrills, Pleasure Beach Resort, Blackpool  
19th April 

Grab an advanced ticket to Pleasure Beach Resort and enjoy an extended visit this Easter weekend. Saturday 19th April sees the theme park stay open for their popular Twilight Thrills event, with rides open until 9pm. That means you can enjoy 11 hours of rides and fun in one day from just £30 per person!

Easter Fun Day, Samlesbury Hall, South Ribble  
20th April  

Join in the fun at Samlesbury Hall with their Fun Day on Easter Sunday. The whole day will be full of fun with delicious treats and egg-citing activities. There will be a Hat Trail, Punch and Judy shows, Easter Bonnet competition and of course all of Samlesbury Hall's usual fun too, including the play area and the Hall itself.  

The venue and event are free to enjoy, with some additional activities available to add on for a cost, including the Spring Flower Workshop and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Egg Rolling, Preston  
21st April  

A historic tradition, be sure to get yourself to Avenham and Miller Park in Preston, this Easter Monday, to enjoy egg rolling with the family! This free event also features an Easter Bonnet competition, live theatre and music performances and the chance to enjoy a bite to eat from local food vendors. With egg rolls on the hour between 11 and 4, and the beautiful surroundings of Avenham Park around you, it’s a great way to spend the day.

Wray Scarecrow Festival, Lancaster  
26th April – 5th May  

Each year the village of Wray makes way for new residents and 2025 is no different as the scarecrow circus comes to town! Wray Scarecrow Festival kicks off with a 10k road race, followed by car boots, giant scarecrow parade and local history walks. Finally on the closing day of 5th May, the Wray Fair day will give you one last chance to see all the circus themed scarecrows and join in more fun around the village.

Garstang Walking Festival, Wyre  
3rd – 11th May 

Another multi-day event to enjoy is Garstang Walking Festival, with 40 walks available to join in with suitable for a range of ages and abilities. This event is not to be missed by those who love the outdoors. A number of these guided walks are free to join in with, with others from as little as £4. Each walk is a great excuse for enjoying the weather and getting to know Garstang’s beautiful surroundings better.

Burnley Live, Burnley  
2nd – 5th May 

Head to Burnley over the May Bank holiday and enjoy a range of fantastic local talent across different venues! A relatively new music festival for the Lancashire scene, Burnley Live has been made bigger and better for 2025 and features a range of great acts, as well as karaoke sessions, live wrestling and an artisan market on the Saturday.

Annual Duck Race, Martin Mere, West Lancashire 
5th May  

That’s right, the annual Martin Mere Duck Race is on this May Day and you have to be in it to win it! Head along to Martin Mere for a whole day of fun, including the opportunity to colour in your rubber duck and enter it into the hotly contested duck race. Theres a great prize up for grabs, as well as bragging rights!  

Martin Mere is home to so many animals and play areas, plus pond dipping, education rooms and trails. Throughout April and May, the Aardman Lloyd of the Flies Bug Hunt will be on too, providing even more fun to join in with.

Picnic in the Park, Chorley  
11th May  

Head to Astley Park for a VE day themed afternoon of free family fun, activities and entertainment at their annual Picnic in the Park event! This event is the epitome of community fun and is a must for residents and visitors alike. There will be fabulous music with 1940's style covers, as well as 80's and modern-day hits, military displays with local Sea, Army and Air cadets, a Classic Car Vehicle Rally, fairground rides and face painting!

Vintage Vibes, East Lancashire Railway, Rossendale  
24th - 25th May 

A brand-new live music event for 2025, Vintage Vibes is set to wow the crowds at Bury Street Station this Spring Bank Holiday Weekend! Unite with like-minded music lovers to dance along to the tunes of yesteryear, from Northern Soul to the 70s, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. This two-day event starts from as little as £19.50 per day, with weekend discount and includes free train travel on the line throughout the weekend.

Samlesbury Hall Food and Drink, South Ribble  
7th – 8th June  

Samlesbury Hall is excited to host its first ever food and drink festival.  The historic hall, which celebrates its 700th anniversary this year, will welcome visitors to experience two days of thrilling entertainment, live music and a showcase of Lancashire's finest food and drink producers. What's more the event will feature a craft fair, and visitors can look around the hall, enjoy its play areas and more. With accommodation right on site too, it’s a great way to spend the weekend.

Rockprest, Preston 
28th – 29th June  

Are you ready for the UKs biggest and best tribute act festival that there ever was? Taking place over two days, Rockprest delivers some of the most iconic rock and metal bands in their tribute form in Moor Park Preston. Combined with fairground rides, great food and drink and an amazing atmosphere, this festival is not to be missed. Tickets cost just £15 per day.
