01 April:                            Gabrielle

After selling-out all 32 nights during last year’s ‘30 Years of Dreaming’ tour, Gabrielle will embark on an even bigger run of shows for 2025. Her biggest ever UK tour will come to a selection of the nation’s biggest arenas including The O2 in London. Gabrielle will also be joined by very special guest Tunde of Lighthouse Family.

02 April:                            Lancashire Schools Sports Partnership

With EXPO 2025 upon us and the potential of the worlds next biggest invention being just around the corner, School children across Lancashire will reflect on all the greats of the past and towards the wonders of the future. They may take a jump back in time or see what they think our future holds with AI to showcase and embrace their Inventive Moves through dance. An evening not to be missed.     

04 April:                            Nikita Kuzmin

International champion and Strictly Come Dancing star NIKITA KUZMIN brings his brand-new show, Midnight Dancer, to the stage on his first-ever solo UK and Ireland tour.

The cast of MIDNIGHT DANCER will include dancers Sophie Baker, Thomas Charles, Lowri Hamilton, Samuel Lake, Charlotte Lee, Zara Liu, Seamus Mcintosh, Daniel Rae and Andreea Toma. Also joining the cast is Vocalist Rebecca Lisewski (MAMMA MIA! West End, The Spongebob Musical UK tour, Cabaret West End).

05 April:                            Man In The Mirror

09 April – 13 April            Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Starring X-Factor winner Joe McElderry as the roof-raising Pharaoh, the smash-hit London Palladium production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat returns to Opera House Blackpool this April.

The multi award-winning show has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours in over 80 countries worldwide and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.

Featuring much loved pop and musical theatre classics, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go Joseph.

17th April                          Rent in Concert

Get ready for an electrifying night of music, passion, and raw emotion as Rent in Concert comes to the iconic Winter Gardens Blackpool! For one night only, join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating one of the most iconic musicals of all time.

Rent, the Tony Award-winning rock musical by Jonathan Larson, tells the story of a group of young artists struggling to survive and create in New York’s East Village under the shadow of poverty, HIV/AIDS, and personal loss. This concert version features all of the show’s beloved songs, from the soaring “Seasons of Love” to the heart-wrenching “One Song Glory,” performed live by a cast of incredible talent.

With its timeless message of love, hope, and friendship, Rent has touched the hearts of audiences worldwide for decades. This stripped-back concert format will allow the power of the music and the rawness of the performances to shine through in an intimate yet dynamic setting.

18 April – 20 April           World Dance Council Amateur League European Championships

WDC Amateur League European (Open to the World) Championships takes place over 3 days and is open to competitors from all over the world. The competitions will feature Latin, Ballroom and American Smooth.

21 April – 27 April           Junior Dance Festival

The Blackpool Junior Dance Festival has been running since 1957 with young dancers from all over the World visiting Blackpool to compete. The Festival, traditionally held in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, celebrated its 60th birthday in 2017 and incorporates the British Junior and Juvenile Open Championships.

In 2010, the Festival moved to the Winter Gardens, Empress Ballroom. As tradition states, the Festival commences on Easter Monday finishing seven days later on the Sunday. There are two age groups of children – Juveniles (6 to under 12 years) and Juniors (12 to under 16 years).

There are three branches of dancing – Latin American, Ballroom and Sequence. Over the seven days, there are 38 competitions, four Team Matches and 10 Formation Competitions.

In 2019, there were over 30 countries represented at the Festival with over 400 couples,  7 Sequence Formation Teams and 104 Latin/Ballroom Formation Teams entered in the various events.

24 April – 26 April                         Twinkletoes

The Barbara Jackson Theatre Arts Centre, proudly presents their bi-annual production at the Winter Gardens. Members of the Barbara Jackson Theatre Arts Centre are returning to the Opera House in 2025.

28 April – 3rd May            Only Fools and Horse The Musical
