It's nearly Pancake Day, and what better way to celebrate than by heading to one of our fabulous restaurants or cafes to enjoy fluffy pancakes. That way you get all the deliciousness without any of the mess!

Here's just a few wonderful places you can enjoy pancakes in Lancashire;

Samlesbury Hall

The Garden Room Eatery offers a wide range of locally sourced food, including pancake stacks for adults and kids. Enjoy your sweet treat in an oasis of calm and tranquillity, full of charming ambience and beautiful surroundings. Finish your trip with a visit to the majestic 700-year-old hall.

Billy Bobs Parlour, Myerscough

Pancakes are so often associated with American diners, so why not head to Lancashire's very own diner experience to enjoy a bite at Billy Bobs Parlour? You'll find nods to the states throughout, including a life-size Coca Cola Truck and American School Bus where you can sit and eat. The menu not only features pancake stacks, but ice cream floats and sodas too, as well as other fan favourites. What's more, kids can burn off the sugar with an hour in the play area!

Hickory's Smokehouse – Thornton, Hutton and Southport

For another authentic American experience, head along to Hickory's Smokehouse. Here you can find a fantastic menu filled with southern American classics including ribs, brisket and burgers, as well as those all-important pancakes of course! You'll find this fluffy treat on their brunch menu, served until 2pm daily. On pancake day itself (Tuesday 4th March) the restaurants will also have a pancakes specials menu on all day.

Hindelinis at Gisburne Park Estate

Hidden away in the heart of the breathtaking Gisburne Park Estate, you can find the lovely Hindelinis Bar & Restaurant. This restaurant offers a number of traditional English dishes for those staying on site or visiting from nearby, including four legged-friends. Head along to enjoy triple-staked pancakes for breakfast, or for desert when you dine in.

Fredricks Ice Cream, Chorley

Did you know that the award-winning Frederick's Ice Cream which has been providing ice cream to the people of Lancashire for over 130 years, can also provide you with your pancake fix? Head along to their Massa's Dessert Cafe Bar, in the heart of Chorley for a crepe style pancake with a choice of 12 toppings, sauce and ice cream – enjoy!

Holmes Mill Gelateria, Clitheroe

The Ribble Valley is a foodie lovers paradise, so it's only right that you'll find a haven of gelato hidden within the Holmes Mill complex. The Gelateria is ideal for those with a sweet tooth, and their crepe style pancakes will hit the sweet spot; especially when they come topped with on-site produced gelato using locally sourced milk and cream. The Gelateria is only open on a weekend at this time of year, so be sure to get there this Saturday or Sunday for your pancake fix.

Thornton Hall Country Park Farm

Another ideal option if you want to celebrate early, is to head along to Thornton Hall this weekend for a great day out with the kids. Check out all the fascinating farm animals, grab a pancake stack in the diner, then let the little ones burn off all that additional energy in the Play Barn! This time of year, is perfect for spotting newborn farm animals too.

Pancake Day at Lakeside Kitchen

The Lakeside Bistro overlooks the stunning lake at Brickhouse Farm Cottages providing a great place for everyone to enjoy. The site has been designed to provide a haven for those with access needs, with ramps, height adjustable tables, larger handle cutlery and more. The Bistro is holding its very own Pancake Day celebrations on Tuesday 4th March, so be sure to grab yours!

Enjoying pancakes at home?

Maybe it does make a mess, but it also provides some of the greatest memories, so if you are planning your pancake day treats at home this year, be sure to check out some fine Lancashire food producers for your ingredients and toppings!

Head to The Bee Centre in Brindle to grab some locally sourced honey, Choc Amor for some handcrafted chocolate or Mrs Dowson's Ice Cream for some fabulous topping ideas. Booths and the Bowland Food Hall are sure to have all the ingredients you need too!
